Best Marketing Agency for Small Businesses: How to Choose One That Actually Drives Sales

I know how hard it is to decide where to put your company's money.

Especially when every agency seems to speak the same language.

"Strategy."

"Creativity."

"Performance."

"Results."

In the pitch, everything looks amazing. The problem shows up after the contract starts.

You pay for social media. You pay for design. You pay for ads management. You pay the ad platforms. Sometimes a website, a landing page and a few tools on top.

And a few months later comes the uncomfortable question:

"Okay, but how much of this is actually coming back to my business?"

What this looks like in practice

Picture Mike, who owns a roofing company outside Dallas. (Mike is an illustrative example, not a client.)

Between his agency's retainer and ad spend, Mike puts about $6,500 a month into marketing. Ads run. Posts go out. Reports arrive full of clicks and impressions.

The phone barely rings more than it did a year ago.

His instinct is to raise the budget. In a setup like that, more budget usually just means losing money faster.

The fix starts with questions: which job has the best margin, who buys it, which offer makes sense, how fast leads get a call back and what happens after the click.

We have seen this turnaround in our own client work. In one client account, after we rebuilt the offer, ads, landing page and follow-up, the ad spend in one period came back as more than 12 times its value in attributed revenue.

Not a secret button. Not magic. Diagnosis before acceleration.

And one client's result is never a promise for another. Market, product, margin and follow-up change everything.

Before you look for an agency, answer one question

What exactly do you want to improve right now?

More customers? More orders? An Instagram account that finally brings opportunities? Better ads? A page that converts? Faster follow-up?

It sounds obvious, but most companies skip this question. And that is where waste begins: hiring social media when the problem is the offer, adding ad budget when nobody replies to leads for three hours, rebuilding the website when nobody can explain why a customer should buy.

Marketing without diagnosis is just spending.

Five questions to ask any marketing agency

Ask all of them the same five questions. The answers will tell you a lot.

1. What problem would you solve first?

If they just met your business and already know you need ads, TikTok, SEO and a new website, be careful. Diagnosis first, solution second.

2. How will we know it is working?

Likes and reach help read the scenario, but the answer has to reach leads, opportunities, sales, cost per customer and revenue.

3. Who will actually work on my account?

Who builds the strategy, who creates, who launches campaigns, who checks the numbers, who talks to you? Strategy without execution becomes a PDF forgotten in a folder.

4. Do you understand how my customer buys?

A clinic does not sell like a restaurant. A $300 product is not bought like a $30,000 service.

5. What is not included?

Ad spend, design, video, photos, landing pages, tools, meetings. A cheap proposal gets expensive when you discover everything that is billed separately.

A free diagnosis you can do today

Split your sales process into four stages:

Acquisition → Conversion → Sale → Repeat purchase

Acquisition: few people know your company? The bottleneck may be ads, content, positioning or SEO. Conversion: people arrive but few reach out? Look at the offer and the page. Sale: leads come in but few buy? It may not be marketing at all. Look at follow-up speed and the sales conversation. Repeat purchase: customers buy once and disappear? There is money sitting in your customer list.

Traffic alone does not fix a broken operation.

How Ímpetus works

Our goal is not to make you post more. It is to connect marketing to revenue.

A customer acquisition engine usually needs four pieces working together:

Social media, so the brand exists and is remembered. Design, so posts and ads stop the scroll. Paid ads management on Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and TikTok Ads, as the strategy requires. A landing page built to turn clicks into leads.

You do not need every platform at once. We choose channels after we understand where your customer is.

What does this cost in the US?

According to WebFX's pricing guide, full-service marketing retainers range from about $1,000 to $20,000 a month, and mid-sized businesses typically pay $3,000 to $10,000 a month for multi-channel packages. Social media management alone often costs $500 to $5,000 a month, and PPC management $1,000 to $3,000 a month or 10% to 20% of ad spend.

Building the same team in-house means three salaries plus benefits, tools and management, before the first dollar goes into ads.

The Ímpetus package

We are entering the US market, and we price our services at about half of the typical market rate so companies can test our work with less risk.

$1,990 a month

Social media + design + paid ads management + a landing page included

Ad spend is separate and paid directly to the platforms.

Why spots are limited

Each account takes real hours: campaigns to analyze, creatives to produce, numbers to check, changes to make. We only take on a limited number of new US clients each month, so every account gets senior attention. When capacity is full, we stop accepting new projects at this price.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in the $1,990 a month?+

Social media management, design, paid ads management and a landing page. Platforms, delivery volume and scope are agreed before we start.

Is ad spend included?+

No. The $1,990 is our fee. What you invest in Google, Meta, LinkedIn or TikTok is paid directly to those platforms.

Do I need to advertise on every platform?+

No. One company finds its best opportunity on Google, another on Instagram, a B2B company on LinkedIn. We pick channels based on your customer.

How much should I spend on ads?+

It depends on your industry, location, competition and ticket size. We recommend a budget after understanding your business.

Can you guarantee results?+

No serious agency guarantees revenue. We build, test, measure and improve based on data.

Ímpetus is Brazilian. How does that work for a US company?+

Ímpetus is a Brazilian company with native English-speaking team members who support our US clients, by email, video call or WhatsApp, whichever you prefer. Brazil is only one to two hours ahead of US Eastern Time, so our working hours overlap with yours.

What does it cost to keep doing the same thing?

Every week without a diagnosis is another week of spend without direction, another week without testing an offer, another week in which a potential customer finds your competitor first.

And at roughly half the market rate, this price will not stay available forever. As our US client list grows, we may close new spots or adjust the price.
